Content

This session aims to introduce the normal distribution equation. By mastering the content in this session, you will:

  • Understand the base equation of the normal distribution

  • Understand the modified equation of the normal distribution, which allows for a custom mean and standard deviation

  • Be able to use the equation of the normal distribution to model normally distributed data

S3.2: The Normal Distribution

  •  Use collected data to illustrate the empirical rules for normally distributed random variables

    • Apply the empirical rule to a variety of problems

    • Sketch the graphs of and the probability density function for the normal using technology

    • Verify, using the Trapezoidal rule, the results concerning the areas under the normal curve
